Vancouver Natives TEMPLAR are EMI Music Canada's newest direct signing!
Following the tradition of previous progressive rock band signings, TEMPLAR have a loyal following of fans and are highly acclaimed in British Columbia having garnered extensive airplay on various local radio stations including CFOX.
The four-piece was formed in 1998 by charismatic lead vocalist Murray Yates who writes the music and lyrics with co-production and writing by guitarist Will C.
Templar's songs are aggressive without being bombarding and Murray's vocals are distinct and melodic. Their intense, hard hitting and driving techno-groovy rock tracks are undeniable, and their emotional ballads will surely grab you.
The official first single, "Here We Go", was mixed by Ron "The Sainte" Germaine (Creed, Killing Joke, U2, Sonic Youth) and the video, directed by Noble Jones (Econoline Crush, IME, Damhnait Doyle, Choclair) will be ready by mid-July.
The band are currently in the studio w/ John Webster recording new tracks that will be featured on their upcoming album tentatively set for release in September alongside tracks from the band's successful self-titled EP effort which was produced by the band and GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, 54-40) and mixed by John Webster.
