Between the Bridges, SLOAN’S fifth studio album and third album in eighteen months, follows 1998’s gold selling Navy Blues, and 99’s live album 4 Nights at the Palais Royale.

With long serving live engineer, and proverbial fifth SLOAN, Brenndan McGuire (By Divine Right, Super Friendz) assisting in production and engineering duties, SLOAN entered Toronto’s Chemical Sound Studios in April and self-produced the 12 songs on Between the Bridges.

If you listen carefully, you may interpret Between the Bridges to be somewhat of a concept record about a band who leaves their native hamlet (Halifax), with the desire to share their collective consciousness with the world. The record can be seen as a tip-of-the-hat to where SLOAN hails, and a heads-up to where they may yet be going.
