| Biography |
 | Sharpe's Dad (Noel Sharpe) an accomplished twelve-string blues guitarist spent his summers with his son commercial fishing on the west coast seas. During these long memorable days, the two would spend their hours working, and listening to a huge variety of classic greats like BB King, Howlin Wolf, Lynyrd Skynryd, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGee, Stevie Ray Vaughan, U2. By the spring of 1988, Sharpe had realized it was time to move on from the conservative studies of the clarinet and embrace his father's musical footsteps. Thus in the middle of the fishing season, at the age of 15, Dylan Kaye Sharpe stepped off his Dad's boat with a fist full of cash and purchased his first Bass Guitar. Sharpe's take to the Bass Guitar was dramitic and unorthodox from the very start. As the years past, the bass guitarist gained a reputation for having a strong command of his instrument. By '96 Sharpe enrolled in Malaspina University-College to study jazz, and further develop his vision of music. With 15 years as a Bass Guitarist (21 years of musical study) Dylan Kaye Sharpe makes a simple comment on his art, "It's a lifetime of study, a way of life. This is the basic principal of all things, and the bass guitar is my vocation." |
