Wayne Schmidt - Vocals And Guitars
Some people take 20 years to figure out what career path they will choose in their life, but Wayne knew what he wanted to do at the age of five. Hearing his dad play his Johnny Cash records and his mom listening to the radio was the spark that lit the fire in him.
Later one of his best friends introduced him to Buddy Holly and the Beatles. "Buddy Holly made me want to play guitar and write songs" says Wayne. "I really started playing guitar at the age of nine learning Elvis and 50's rock n' roll from cassette tapes that I owned. Before that I just carried a guitar around not really knowing what to do with it."
When he was 14 years old he went through a 6 year Led zeppelin faze where Jimmy Page was the be all end all. "Jimmy made me want to play lead guitar". "I played mostly rythm guitar up until then". "When I was 16 I wanted to learn how to produce and engineer records like my idols George Martin (The Beatles, Jeff Beck), Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin) and Bob Rock (Metallica)".
In 1996 Wayne attended and graduated from top marks from the audio engineering program at Columbia Academy Of Recording Arts. He currently owns and manages his own recording studio with Mark Fabricius (Nomadic Sanctuary) where he engineers and co-produces Nomadic Sanctuary and other artist's music.
Mark Fabricius - Drums And Percussion
When it comes to one knowing his purpose in life, Mark has never had a problem answering that question, for he was born to be a drummer and an entertainer. Instilled with rythm at the tender age of 9 he had his first rythmic instrument at age 11. It was a primitive electronic drum pad with built in drum and percussion sounds. as simple as it was it was good enough to peak his interest.
Getting his first drum kit at the age of 12 he started in the local high school band and before you knew it he was a prominent drum instructor and player in his local town of Maple Ridge.
When watching and listening to him perform it's obvious that he's done his homework. He is well schooled in all styles of music including rock, blues, jazz etc; with rock being his forte. He explodes on the kit like a volcano, with his main unit Nomadic Sanctuary. Mark and the boys ignite pure chaos on stage.
