The Moffatts from Vancouver, BC, Canada

Genre: Use to play and sing country, but now it's pop/ROCK. Emphasis on ROCK. It DOES NOT SOUND like the backstreet boys or any other "boybands". The live shows have a unique, energetic and professional sound.

Biography
In 1988 The Moffatts recorded the song 'Grandpa' by The Judds as a Christmas gift for their grandfather. As the song was being recorded in West Edmonton Mall, a huge crowd was forming to watch and listen to the four young, talented boys.

In 1989, The Moffatts did their first paying gig at the Mill Bay Country Music Festival on Vancouver Island. Later, in 1990, the Moffatt brothers busked at Victorias Inner Harbour. This resulted in The Moffatts making hundreds of dollars and for the next two years The Moffatts performed on weekends at senior homes, charitable functions and the odd music festival.

By 1992, their musical efforts were recognized when they recieved five BCCMA award nominations. After their performance at the award show, The Moffatts met Robert Byrne, a famed Nashville producer, who offered to work with them. In the summer of 1992, the boys toured the fairs and festivals of Western Canada. During their tour they met Allan Osmond, who asked The Moffatts if they would be interested in performing with The Osmonds in Branson, Missouri. In August The Moffatts recorded the first two tracks for their debut album, 'It's a Wonderful World' and begun their two month tour with The Osmonds. By December The Moffatts where back in Victoria to record the rest of their debut album, with the financial support of ten local Victoria businesses.

By 1993, The Moffatts where in Nashville as regulars on TNN's, Ralph Emery's Nashville Now(a country music show). After completing their four month contract with TNN, they where asked to perform in Las Vegas at the Aladdin Hotel in The Country Tonite Show. While performing in Las Vegas, The Moffatts became the youngest band ever to receive a major recording contract. In the spring of 1994 The Moffatts joined the Branson Missouri segment of The Country Tonite Show, where they performed until they started recording their second album, 'The Moffatts'. In June of 1995 their second album was released and soon became one of the top selling country music albums of '95. Because of the success of the second album, The Moffatts became a big demand in fairs and festivals though Canada and the USA.

In 1996, The Moffatts recorded an independent Christmas album, 'A Moffatts Christmas', which was distributed only by their fan club and by the ages of 11 and 12 The Moffatts were doing TV shows and playing in front of 30,000 people at big country music festivals. However, backstage they were listening to the Doors and Nirvana. That heavier sound dosen't really come through on the Moffatts fourth and latest release, Chapter 1: A New Beginning, which was recorded in 1997. Chapter 1 is pop/rock, but The Moffats love for rock music definitely shows during live concerts, when Scott bangs out power chords and enthusiascally bounces around the stage.

The Moffatts have worked their way up from country music festivals to become teen rock/pop sensations, who are in charge of their own career. They have numerous gold and platinum records under their belt and they have sold over a million albums world wide. I quote the European Press on saying, "There's nothing Boy Group or kiddish about this band's stagemanship or professionalism. THE MOFFATTS CAN ROCK WITH THE BEST OF THEM!"
