 | The McRackins - "Back to the Crack" (CD)
After seeing Babe, I've overcome by hesitancy to believe animals can talk. Two Canadian eggs and a dog scramble up Ramones ass-boned riffs while barking up melodies and "ohh yeahhs"s with the security and defiance of a Rottweiler with a rag doll in its mouth, barking at a fair hair child paralyzed at the safe side of a chain linked fence. Keep your eyes on the tightness of their leash, make sure the knot's snug. I feel a crossover into the land of pure pop pleasure if allowed to run free. This ain't no chicken shit release even if there is a ballad. The McRackins are finding their own crack in the pavement; their sound becoming more distinct - the rapid infection of a wild dog bite mingled with a fragile, egg shell side. (Ever tried to break an egg by compressing its ass and tip, not the sides? Much harder than you may expect.) May the young lady puppies swoon. May the McRackins future be full of many more fertile yolks and studded flea collars. Goo 'un. |
