Biography
Kim Kuzma is an entertainer with an extensive vocal range whose intense singing performance is effortlessly offset by casual, often candid, conversations with her audience. Kim's voice and sultry stage presence draw her audience in, allowing them to join her on a musical ride not soon forgotten.

Kim has released her debut CD recording of 10 songs, drawing on her inspirations from current issues, dreams for the future and lessons from the past. Aptly titled, Contradictions, Kim Kuzma's debut combines rich, soulful vocals with memorably, haunting melodies to create songs that are lush in mood and melody that capture your heart & comfort the soul. Contradictions includes 7 songs written and co-written by Kuzma and 3 covers of songs penned by the likes of Annie Lennox & Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, Annette Ducharme, John Reilly and Jose Feliciano.

Kim Kuzma and Contradictions are getting rave reviews by critics and fans alike. Some fans describe her talent as a mirror into their very souls. Contradictions has now charted for over 6 months at No. 1 on the HMV - Vancouver Indie Charts since the CD was released in September 1999.

Outstanding songs include: Do You Remember, River, Contradictions, Everyone Learns To Dance, Time Bomb, Braveheart & Tango of Love.

A few recent reviews state:

"Kim Kuzma... impressive debut... Highly recommended." - Ken Eisner, The Georgia Straight Weekly "Kuzma's record is No. 1 on the indie sales chart and for good reason. She's earned a reputation for the seemingly effortless soul she invests in her performances with word of mouth on Contradictions, more people are discovering her musical range and depth as a writerÂ… simply tailored production gives Contradictions a shiny pop gleam." - Tom Harrison, Vancouver Province "Four out of 5 stars... Kuzma has produced one of the year's strongest and most engaging indie-Vancouver albums." - Tom Zillich, West Ender

CONTRADICTIONS is available at HMV, A&B Sound, Virgin Records, Sam The Record Man, Chapters, Little Sisters and Urban Barn.

Some of Kim's past accomplishments include:

Charting as the No. 1 selling independent artist for the entire year of 1999 with only 3.5 months of sales since September 1999, at HMV - Robson Street - Vancouver.

Winning the "1999 Volunteer Spirit Award", with Just Singin' Round co-producers Yvonne McSkimming and Mark James Fortin, at the 1999 West Coast Music Awards.

Being invited to perform the national anthem numerous times at GM Place for both the Vancouver Canucks NHL hockey team and the Vancouver Grizzlies NBA basketball team.

Hosting The Performers on BCTV, a program instrumental in promoting local talent.

Kim co-wrote "Puisque C'est L'amour" with Warner-Chappel writer, David Pickell. Lara Fabian, a very successful French Canadian singer (two platinum records to her credit) recorded this song on a previous album, which has reached more than 180,000 in sales to date.

Recording vocals for "Phone Booth in the Rain" which won The 1993 Song Writing Contest and is currently being played on Vancouver's QMFM and STAR FM. Also recorded "Oh Johnny" which was played on Vancouver's dance station Z95.3 FM.

Performing at the Canadian Broadcasting Awards Show held in Vancouver, performing with Colin James, Paul Janz and Montreal's Zachary Richard.

Kim co-wrote and performed the theme song on Warren Miller's "Go with the Windsurfer" windsurfing film.

As a performer Kim has built a solid foundation in the local Vancouver scene. With each and every show, Kim continues to win over new fans and takes her singing to a higher level. Kim's show has been described as entrancing. Malcolm Parry of the Vancouver Province says, "Her snake-like hips, rhythm and vocal range entertain and mesmerize the audience".

Her live performances reveal both the skill and the soul of a true artist. Soulful, graceful and sometimes haunting, Kim delivers a show that will take her audience through a range of styles and emotions, leaving them spellbound.
