Yes, he's got two full time jobs, folks. He's the hardest working man in wacky-alterna-pop. Maybe you know his first job (sax player for The Planet Smashers)...but do you know his second?
After his first sexual experience in Toronto, Leon renounced the world and became a monk; but he didn't fit in. He was often kicked out of the Indian devotional chant group for playing half-note triplets over four-four rhythm. He left to study jazz at McGill university where he acquired many musical influences including Thelonious Monk, Mahler, and Ween. Soon he joined The Planet Smashers (ska band extraordinaire) and began a life of touring the world. During a haitus from The Smashers, Leon grabbed a few engineering courses and slaved for a year in Toronto's advertising industry. In time he managed to save up enough dough to build his own studio and release his very own indie EP. Yes, this is it: the release of Leon's debut, Familiar.
