| He walloped you with a raw-throated howl overtop of driving guitars one minute then hit you with a heartfelt acoustic ballad the next. His expressive, insightful lyrics took you to a place you'd seen before - while the infectious melodies let you know you'd be back. Ears ringing with the sound of a powerful, gritty twang you don't know whether to laugh, cry or yell at the top of your lungs. You've found yourself in the middle of a sonic funhouse that is Rich Hope, the band and the man.
Backed by the rhythmic power of bassist Mike Evans and drummer Mark Miller, Rich Hope is creating a rock sound that one can rely on. A sound that is timeless and honest rather than the targeted new flavour.
After years of performing solo, Rich Hope released a self-titled EP in June 1997. Two years later Rich releases the critically-acclaimed debut CD - GOOD TO GO. Rootsy-twang, blazing rock n' roll, tortured ambience and straight-from-the-heart laments mix and mingle to prove that all is well in the kingdom of good, honest rock music. An eclectic mix of songs such as "Out of Place", "Resident Love Song", "Mindset" and "The Final Pressing of the Book of our Engagement" suggest that there are few stones left unturned on this record.
Make no mistake, true rock n' roll is about songs and a feeling that lasts and Rich Hope is all that. |
