| Biography |
 | The MARK GREEN BAND started its performance life in December 1994 at the Fat Cat Blues Bar in St John's, NFLD. Mark's musical career began at 16 when he started taking guitar lessons from St John's Blues legend Denis Parker, although his musical interests were sparked at an early age by his father's music collection. Mark toured Western Canada when he was 21 with Gary B.B.Coleman. For those familiar with Blues, Gary BB Coleman was a sideman for Freddie King, ZZ Hill and Lightning Hop- kins. Since that time, he has played extensively in Halifax, St.John's and other parts of the Atlantic region. In addition, Mark has been featured on the MuchEast program on MuchMusic. In 1995, The Mark Green Blues Band released their first CD 'Preachin' Blues'. That release nominated for an East Coast Music Award for best blues album. In March the band released thier second album "I Live The Life I Love" - a live disc recorded at the Marquee Club in Halifax. |
