| Biography |
 | Gogo first picked up a guitar when he was four, heard Canned Heat on one of his dad's records when he was six, and was smuggling himself into blues bars when he was 16. Almost immediately after he graduated from high school he formed his first band -- a tough quartet called The Persuaders that shared stages with Johnny Winter, Albert Collins, B.B. King, Otis Rush and John Mayall. Stevie Ray Vaughan became a friend, and the spirit of the blues became his life. Then there was the major-label, big time management deal -- something he looks back on, now, with a mixture of resignation and horror, preferring to say nothing and let the past fade into memory. |
