**GF has begun work on their forthcoming debut album. It is now known that ten songs will appear on the record:
1. Livin It Up 2. We'll Be Together 3. Who Hash 4. Hat & Pants Brown 5. Superheroes 6. All Of Us 7. Overused 8. Summer Plans 10. Different Crime
The as of yet unnamed album is being recorded at Studio 11, by multi Juno Award winning producer Brandon Friesen, as well as with Juno Award winning engineer Rob Shallcross. Expect to see Girl Friday's album released early in 2004. For now, keep your eyes peeled for select local shows.
Due to the extensive amount of work involved with recording, GF has had to postpone and cancel some shows. We apologize for the inconvenience. Year founded: 1999

| Biography |
| Girl Friday formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba, early in 1999, as the result of a combining of Buck Rogers and The Prophet. Dan Schmidt (guitars) and Garett McCormick (drums) joined Mike Vermeylen (guitar & lead vocals) and Jonny (bass)to form Girl Friday. The band spent years writing and demoing, while playing select dates to a local scene. A recording grant in 2001 from Manitoba Film & Sound saw the band in a recording studio once again, co-producing what ended up being yet again a demo. After being unhappy with the recordings they had done, Girl Friday sought to make a big time, high end record. After much more writing and gigging, the band to started to create a buzz. This landed them spots on several local radio stations. Through all the word of mouth hype and media attention, Girl Friday managed to land a production contract with Juno Award winning Producer Brandon Friesen, of Winnipeg's Studio 11. Alongside that, Girl Friday has managed to garner the attention of more than one major label, even without a record finished. Expect to see Girl Friday's first ever full length album around early 2004. To promote the album the band has plans for extensive touring in the works. |
