CreeAtive Harmonys Julie Robertson and Dawn Ferguson are
originally from the Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement located in Northern Alberta. We have been singing for seven years, and both play guitar and native drum. Since the release of our first album in 1998, our popularity has grown immensely. We both write our own songs, from country tunes to traditional music.
Dawn has been singing since she was 3 years old and playing guitar since she was 12 years old. Dawn credits her dad for her love of music and teaching her to chord for him while he played his fiddle.
Julie has been singing ever since she could remember. She learned to play guitar seven years ago and has also learned to play bass guitar.
Songwriting is a love of these aspiring young musician, and they spend much of their time writing songs, some of which reflect the struggles that Native people have endured.
