| Biography |
 | Originally formed in 1994 as an acoustic folk trio, the band has since undergone several personnel changes and become completely electric, setting for itself the mandate of creating and performing entertaining, lively music that is intelligent yet also accessible. Always striving to greater levels of perfection, the members of Cove are continually writing new material and finding ways to better present existing material so that it can be customized to the needs of a particular audience, thus providing a tight, well-conceived product at every performance.
Cove's members are all educated musicians who have received training from some of the top musicians in Canada. Many of Cove's members are completing music studies either at the University of Alberta or Grant MacEwan College.
Cove has developed a following in the Edmonton Area, opening for bands such as Captain Tractor and Feast, as well as headlining their own shows. On St. Patrick's Day 2000, Cove kept a standing-room-only Sidetrack Café dancing all night long, and had to turn down gigs for the same night from three other venues in Edmonton, as well as from Captain Tractor and the University of Calgary. Recently, Cove was a featured artist on KickInTheHead, and local media attention has included interviews on CJSR, CKUA's Celtic Show, and A-Channel's Wired, a feature article by Mike Ross of the Edmonton Sun, and several favourable CD reviews.
Cove's debut album, Later, recorded at Wolf Willow Sound in Edmonton, Alberta, was released in August 1999. Producer Ian Armstrong was so impressed by the group's sound that he went out of his way to provide Cove with a product far surpassing the financial restraints that the band had to work with, resulting in a polished and accessible album. Since its release, two independent record labels have shown interest in the band: RCI Records (Nashville, Tennessee) and Raspberry Records (Beas, Spain).
Cove's vision for the future is to continue to grow towards higher and higher levels of musical excellence and to consistently provide a superior-quality product to its audience, with an immediate goal of building a healthy following in Western Canada and the eventual goal of gaining international recognition in the music industry.
