BossHogg started together in may 1999, in Lennoxville, Quebec. The band is formed of three members: Tim Brink on vocals and drums, Kevin Groves on guitar, and Jean-Francois Leclerc on keyboards.
Tim, who's 23, had other bands before, like Wick, and is always part of the song writing. His powerful voice really brings out the soul of our songs, nice and loud. Tim studied arts, acting and music in Champlain College, Lennoxville. His first instrument is vocals, but he is also a good guitar player, and of course a nice drummer.
However, Bosshogg is looking for another rythm section, because it takes a lot of syncronisation for Tim and Jf to do two instruments at the same time, but mostly because Tim likes to bounce around, and really turn the place upside down when he sings.
Kevin Groves is the most experienced musician of the band. Ten years ago, he started his own band called KGB (Kevin Groves Band). He mastered lots of gitar styles and is a kick ass rocker, bluesman, country picker and funk player. Kevin won the Steve Ray guitar in Montreal (best blues player of mtl contest), made a CD with KGB, toured in Germany, France, Belgium and opened for big bands like Jeff Healey. He is also a really nice singer, as you can hear on 'Miss you already'.
Jean-Francois Leclerc started playing the piano at 4. Did classical studies until the age of 17, then bought himself a synthetiser and started to play the blues. After, JF was accepted in jazz studies in Sherbrooke college and then went in Sherbrooke university, but didn't finish to go play in the bars of the estern townships. He was in bands of the town and finally arrived in KGB, Kevin's band.
Played with them for three years, in blues festivals and bars, and when the band broke, decided with kevin to continue on, and they finally found Tim, bartending at the Lion, Lennoxville's brewry.
BossHogg is now ready to show it's own stuff. We did everything by our own: we wrote the songs, recorded them on computer, did the mixing, the CD pressing, the CD outfit, even our site! Feel free to email us!
