In June of 1995, Vancouver, Canada's Another Joe began their career when Jon Glen enlisted John Simmonds and Alison Toews to form one of Vancouver's most explosive punk rock bands. Little did they know that both their music and there live performances would establish Another Joe as one of Vancouver's brightest new ensembles.
From the beginning of Another Joe a strong work ethic was established, after their first live show, AJ set out on a two week tour down the West Coast of California. Since then they have successfully completed three Canadian "coast to coast" tours, along with countless other regional Canadian and American tours. Another Joe has toured and performed with groups such as AFI, No Use For A Name, Diesel Boy, High Standard, SNFU, Gob, Guttermouth, Chixdiggit and The Suicide Machines to name a few.
The lively and animated performances of Another Joe has captivated audiences of all ages and led the group to the attention of radio, promoters and record labels. In response to their growing popularity, in '96 Positive Records (Gob's label) released the debut Another Joe CD entitled "Pee Against the Wind" along with a music video entitled "Eat at Bernies". After various tours and radio play in '97 Another Joe released along with friends Gob, the split CD "Ass Seen on TV" on Landspeed Records. This new release received enormous attention with a very successful "co-headlining" Canadian tour, radio airplay, and a live performance on MuchMusic.
In '98 Landspeed Records released the much anticipated CD "Cran-doodle Daddy", in a short time of its release, it received rave reviews and charted on many radio stations across Canada. After a month long Canadian tour, the Another Joe buzz was loud enough to get the attention of Manitoba based label Smallman Records. In early August of '99 Another Joe signed on with Smallman Records, also the home of Choke, Guy Smiley, Layaway Plan and others, to re-release the Cran-doodle Daddy CD, and also to release the new much anticipated Another Joe CD entitled "Plasti-scene".
Before starting pre-production on the new AJ material, the band parted ways with the original drummer John Simmonds and recruited Windsor Ont. native John Rylance who brought in his fresh and very talented style of drumming that would add to the new sound. With a February 14th release date , a new video and an extensive Canadian and US tour the year 2000 is bound to be Another Joe's most successful year to date and will definitely make Another Joe the band to keep your eyes on.
